LA Special Feature: Coyote Run – “Love From Far Away”

Coyote Run

Kasie Shahbaz is Coyote Run, her latest single, “Love From Far Away” is a hard-hitting and melodious track pushing boundaries of psychedelic rock, shoe-gaze, and dream pop. The song explores emotions of longing, unrequited love, and how love can permeate all aspects of your life. The track has a slow progression with psychedelic riffs building up towards a big sound in the chorus with Shahbaz layering her vocals to make for a silvery harmony. Shahbaz had this to say about the track in her recent interview with BTR Today,

I was really in love with someone that didn’t necessarily reciprocate the feelings; I wrote the song about the love you feel for someone that you end up giving to everything because it has to go somewhere. So it’s kind of an ode to loving a person but it’s also your love falling all over the ocean and sky and making everything beautiful. I felt really full when it came out of me, not rejected. And it started as a loop I was hypnotized by for a long time, then I wrote the lyrics.

The single has gotten us extremely excited for Shahbaz’s upcoming release, “Infinite Disappearance of Fear” set to drop this fall. If you’re in LA, be sure to catch Coyote Run’s Sofar Sounds show in Downtown LA October 14th.
