The 3-day series will be held May 18-20 and split between the Wonder Ballroom and Crystal Ballroom. Night 1 kicks off May 18th at the Wonder Ballroom with a night centered around female-fronted, lo-fi rock acts. Headlining will be blissful indie rockers Alvvays and opening are fuzzed-out, power pop group The Courtneys, who recently released their critically acclaimed album The Courtneys II, and local bedroom pop artist Candace.
Night 2 will have the newly appointed headliner, in replace of Shamir, UK artist NAO who in 2016 released her fantastic full-length debut synth, R&B album For All We Know. She will be joined by LA based, romantic funk artist Harriet Brown and Portland’s own dance-worthy funk/R&B artist Chanti Darling who will be showcasing their unique blends of dance/funk music in a celebration of identity and positivity.
The final night will be held at the Crystal Ballroom and headlined by Portland’s rising hip-hop star Aminé whose single “Caroline” brought him to the spotlight and mainstream airwaves. He’ll be joined by UK rapper/producer A2 and Portland’s well-known hip-hop artist The Last Artful, Dodgr.
Red Bull Sound Select is no stranger to Portland as they’ve been bringing cheap, $3 (with RSVP) shows since 2013 that feature rising, talented artists that include Denzel Curry, Mick Jenkins, Rubblebucket, BRONCHO, Classixx and more. Portland is the second chosen city to host the 3 Days series, following Miami, and follows the success of it’s 30 Days in LA series.
Each of the 3 day shows are $10 and are 18+. Doors open at 8pm. Find tickets and more information here!
