Paris SOTW: La Féline – “Senga”

La Féline

This week’s Paris song of the week comes from French minimalist pop act La Féline. French pop darling, Agnès Gayraud is the singer and guitarist. Their name was inspired by Jacques Tourneur’s 1942 film Cat People. “Senga” is their latest single from their upcoming album Triomphe. The dark, obscure and hymn-like track features percussive saxophone. There is a mysterious and primitive aspect about this single that clashes in the best way with the celestial panpipes near the end. La Féline has been featured on compilation albums via underground, anti-commercial label La Souterraine. Triomphe is set to release January 27, 2017 via Kwaidan Records.
