Seattle SOTW: Smokey Brights – “Desiree”

This past Friday, Seattle band Smokey Brights released their alluring sophomore album Hot Candy. The five piece exude vintage rock while entwining psychedelic pop to create a sublimely voluptuous sound. The second track off their album “Desiree” is sultry and seductive. The song opens with Kim West’s bright keys and elegant vocals and is followed by gritty guitar riffs and mellow backing vocals that bring an impassioned fullness to the song. Its lyrics “Your shy I know, but you don’t have to go ’cause I, I’ll take it slow. I’ll make you feel like home” are tempting and make for an irresistible listen.
