Bay Area SOTW: Saviours – “Flesh Of Fire”

Oakland-based stoner metal outfit Saviours have been making music since 2004. Continuing in the vein of classic staples like Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, they make melodic sludge metal to space out to. This talented four-piece make just the right kind of seedy metal made for worshipping the Dark Lord.

“Flesh Of Fire” is the second track off of Palace Of Vision, the band’s excellent fifth album. The song is an excellent introduction to the group’s style. Beginning with trudging guitars and frontman Austin Barber’s growling vocals. The song picks up in intensity as it transitions and the sludgy guitars start to wail as the band’s guitar talent is put on display. Put your horns up and listen to the track below, preferably at high volume.
